6/6/18 - This is an excellent and unmodified example of the best designed WWII infantry rifle - an M1 Garand. This one was made in August 1944 and chambered in .30-06 caliber. This is an all original and all correct rifle that had not been rearsenaled and retains 90-95% of its parkerizing and has all the correct parts with appropriate “drawing” numbers. The receiver is near mint but there is some finish loss on the underside of the barrel. The barrel is dated 8/44 which matches the year and month of production of the receiver. Excellent unrefinished wood with sharp ordnance wheel cartouche and SA GAW acceptance marking next to it. There are no cracks. Everything on this rifle is original WWII Springfield Armory, including the lock-bar rear sight. Very few of the unmodified WWII M1 Garands exist as the vast majority had gone through an Arsenal update at least once in the past 70 years.
