1/25/18 - This pistol was manufactured late in the war by Spreewerk, an arms factory located in Grottau, Czechoslovakia (occupied Sudetenland).  All serial numbered parts are properly matching (frame, slide, barrel, and locking block), and there are NO import marks. The finish is completely original, not refinished and not a "dipped" Russian capture. Overall condition is excellent with some thinning to the finish on the front grip strap. The metal surfaces do show numerous milling and tool marks, fairly typical of the later war Spreewerk pistols which were produced in large part by forced labor. The original black grips have interior markings and general construction which identify them as being made by the Julius Posselt firm, a company which supplied the majority of the grips to Spreewerk in the later part of the war. The grips are in excellent overall shape and free of chips or cracks. Almost certainly a WWII bring-back, the capturing G.I. lightly scratched his initials "E.D." on the right grip panel. If the ED is a "deal killer" for you we can replace the grips, but this is the way it came to us. This pistol is in good mechanical condition with everything working as it should, including the safety/decocker. Minty bore.
