12/22/20 - This is a Mauser P.38 issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It has a dual-tone finish - the frame and slide are phosphate and the barrel is blued. The slide is marked "byf 44". The slide and frame are "Waffen 135" Nazi military-proofed. All numbered parts are matching. The finish is a little difficult to rate given the phosphate, but we estimate it has retained about ~97%. There appears to be minor thinning on the front strap. There is very high edge and muzzle wear. There is also minor freckling on the very front left edge of the slide. Comes with original Mauser grips that have a few dings. Also comes with a period-correct magazine. De-cocker is functional. The bore has nice rifling, but there is minor pitting throughout.
