7/15/21 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Commando Revolver manufactured in 1943. It is all matching and comes with a Colt factory letter. The letter states that the gun was shipped to the Chief of Police of the city of Sherman on December 8th, 1943. However, the gun has "GHD" and flaming bomb proofs on the left side of the frame. This would indicate that this gun was initially delivered to the police and then diverted the to the US military. It has retained about 97% of its original parkerized finish. There is minor wear around the muzzle, hints of wear on the high edges of the frame and cylinder, and a very light roll mark on the cylinder. While there is very little actual finish loss, there are small dots of oxidation throughout, but most noticeable on the barrel and cylinder. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with excellent brown bakelite grips with a couple of very small chips. The bore is mint.
