4/28/21 - This is an excellent example of a DWM Luger P.08 issued to the Imperial German Army in 1916. The gun has a "1920" rework stamp, an added police seer safety, and what looks like a police inventory number on the tang. These attributes indicate that this gun was likely reworked after WW1 and issued to the German police force. There is also a "Circle S" proof on the left side of the slide. This is a proof most often associated with leftover guns issued to the police shortly after WW1. The gun is all matching and has the proper Imperial German military proofs. It has retained about 94-95% of its original finish. There are areas of minor wear at the base of the front strap, underside of the trigger guard, on the side plate, on the high edges of the frame, and around the muzzle. A few minor handling marks on the front strap. Comes with excellent grips - the right panel is matching, left is mismatched. It also comes with a mismatched "Star K" marked police magazine. The bore has strong rifling with minor freckling throughout.
