3/6/17 - This is an early serial number production PP. Serials started in 1929 with 750000. So this one was among the first 11,000 made and most likely 1929 or 1930. Early features include the enclosed firing pin, the extended barrel, and the reversed serial numbering on the frame. The original finish is about 95-96%. The bore is excellent and shiny - like new. It comes with the early weighted grips and an early banner only, and "no lip" finger extension magazine. Unfortunately, the safety, which was originally a 90 degree was swapped for a 60 degree. This was fairly common for the early guns as the early safeties had enough design flaws that the factory went to the 60 degree and subsequently many of the early safties were replaced. Nonetheless this gun functions properly and is mechanically sound.
