8/8/18 - This is a scarce Colt 1911 from the Great War era, with all original parts and finish. Manufactured in early 1914, as it has the early slide. Notice the final Patent date is 1911, and not the later 1913 Patent date; making it a rare transitional piece. This pistol has about 80% original blue with minor slide thinning and freckling near the muzzle, as well as a thin front strap. Correct slide with H proof, as well as the correct HP marked barrel, which is faintly stamped and has lost most of its finish. Original grips do show some age but no major cracks or chips. Bore has strong rifling but some minor corrosion in grooves. Two-tone magazine.
