12/14/17 - This is a stunning example of an early production Mauser "Red 9" Broomhandle pistol that retains 98% of its original blue. It is all matching, with a matching shoulder stock and a 1915 dated original leather harness. The gun is in near mint condition with just a tiny bit of wear on the high points and barrel . Vivid fire blue is present on the small parts. It has matching grips in excellent condition and a bright bore with strong rifling. Imperial proof mark is present on the right side of the chamber, denoting an Imperial German Army acceptance. The shoulder stock is imperial proofed as well, and in excellent condition with two minor caveats: a previous owner or the GI who brought it back numbered the wood by hand, and lightly scratched his address into the stock. It is difficult to see unless you catch it from the right angle. Finally, the gun comes with a rare original harness, maker marked and dated 1915. A superb WWI rig, barely used, nearly impossible to find in this condition.
