12/16/20 - This is a very nice example of an original Mauser C96 "Red 9" Broomhandle rig that was sent to a German Police department after the war. In accordance with stipulations of the Versailles Treaty, these pistols were modified to have their barrels shortened and tangent sight removed, then many were issued to German Police arsenals. They are far less commonly seen in this configuration than in original design. The gun is all matching except the grips. The pistol is chambered for 9mm. It has retained about 85% of its original finish. There is spotty wear on the barrel and on some of the high edges. There is a unit marking on the front strap, and also on the holster. It comes with the original holster, which is also difficult to find. The bore is very nice - shiny with strong rifling.
