7/15/21 - This is an excellent example of a Colt Official Police revolver manufactured in 1940. This gun is all matching and comes with a Colt factory letter. The letter states that this gun was delivered to E. I. Dupont Nemours and Co in Wilmington, Delaware on September 10th of 1940. We believe this gun was issued to the Dupont security force. The gun also comes with a Dupont Security patch and an original Dupont wood crate (shipping explosives) panel dated 1947. This is a great assembly and would make a fantastic display piece. The gun itself has retained about 95% of its original high polish finish. There is wear around the muzzle, hints of wear on the high edges of the cylinder and frame, and a light roll mark on the cylinder. Tiny dots of oxidation on the frame. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with excellent wood grips. The bore is mint.
