10/30/20 - This is a nice example of a Colt Sheriff's Model 1878 revolver, chambered in .44/c. According to the included factory letter, it was manufactured and shipped to Simmons Hardware Co, in May of 1884. It also has a factory nickel finish. It has retained roughly 60% of its factory nickel. The nickel plating is worn around the grip and a little on the cylinder. There is spotty oxidation throughout. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. All matching. The grips appear original but they are in better condition than the gun. The bore is largely pitted. The gun includes the Colt factory letter. In spite of the drawbacks it is an Antique revolver in better condition than most.
