6/23/21 - This is a nice example of a Colt Model 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver sold in the commercial market in 1863. The gun is all matching and correct. It also has the proper Naval scene on the cylinder that is mostly visible. The gun has lost virtually all of its original finish with patina and spotty oxidation throughout. The cylinder is tight and the action is smooth. Comes with nice wood grips - small bruises here and there and a series of tiny dings on the bottom of the left grip. Someone likely used it as a hammer. The bore has strong rifling with pitting near the muzzle.
