10/27/20 - This is an excellent example of a 1945 Colt 1911A1. The pistol ended up in the hands of the British government/military as part of the lend-lease program, as the right side of the frame and slide have various English proofs, including 'RELEASED BRITISH GOVT. 1952' on slide, and 'NOT ENGLISH MAKE' on frame. It has retained about 95% of its original finish. There is minor muzzle wear and wear around some of the high edges. There is spotty wear on the right side of the slide. It has excellent grips an d comes with a period-correct magazine. The bore is nice - good rifling with minor fouling in the grooves.
