9/10/20 - This is a Colt 1911 Government Model manufactured in 1915 and purchased by the Argentine government. Between 1914 and 1941, the Argentine government ordered over 21,000 of these pistols from Colt for their army, navy, and police force. They ordered 1,000 consecutive guns from Colt in this particular serial range, C20001-C21000. There are no Argentine proofs on the gun, but it is in the correct range and has the characteristic Argentine numbering in the ejection port. This gun has about 98% bluing. There is very minor wear and some light scratching around the muzzle. There are a few light scratches/handling marks on the top of the slide. There are three small dots of discoloration on the underside of the trigger guard. There are areas of very light freckling most noticeable on the right side of the slide and on both straps. The finish on the straps has dulled. Excellent grips. Comes with one magazine. The gun is fully functional. The number in the ejection port matches the gun. The bore has decent rifling, but there is heavy frosting in the grooves.
