9/15/20 - This is a Model 1917 C.T. Bolo knife manufactured by American Cutlery Company of Chicago, Illinois. This model was a moderate simplification of the earlier 1910 Bolo made by Springfield Armory. The main difference is the lack of the catch mechanism on the scabbard and grip. The blade is marked AC.CO 1918 CHICAGO / U.S. MODEL 1917. This unique piece comes with a mint canvas sheath and a scarce metal scabbard. The canvas sheath is reinforced with leather and stamped A-K-CO. 1918 R.H.S. ( who was the inspector). The metal scabbard is stamped U.S. L.F. & C. - 1918. The blade shows some sign of sheath/scabbard wear but is in overall excellent condition- a very fine addition to any military knife collection.
