6/27/18 - This is a late WW2 production nazi K98 made in the Steyr factory. The rifle is stamped on the receiver "BNZ 4". The single digit "4" is significant to show this was late 1944 production. This explains why the stock lacks waffen proofs or a serial number. Rifles produced hastily at the end of the war often times left the factory without all of the "official" or "proper" stamps. We guarantee this stock is original and period correct. The stock has some normal scuffing, and the underside has a smell "chew" mark. No major cracks or chips though. The metal has normal patina and finish loss in some places. Throughout the barrel is some light brown patina. Overall we call this normal and honest wear. The rifle is all matching and correct. The bore is fairly clean but there is some signs of use, residue, and wear within the grooves. Rifling is in tact. Guaranteed original and authentic.
