9/1/17 - This is an absolutely magnificent Colt Python, made in 1965, with a desirable 4-inch barrel and an original box. This early gun retains over 99% of the original deep luster blue that made the 1960's Pythons such attractive guns for shooters and collectors alike. This particular specimen is nearly new with a very light turn line on the cylinder and no evidence of it being fired beyond test firing at the factory. It has beautiful original grips and a mint bore. It also comes with an original box and a page from a period magazine advertisement. The box appears to be unserialized and is in very good condition. The action on Colt Pythons is as smooth as butter, and these are often considered to have the best action of any out of the box revolver. The guns made in the 60's are considered to be the best finished Pythons of all time, as the polishing and finish of these beautiful guns deteriorated in the 70's, 80's and 90's, at which point production was terminated by Colt.
