6/3/19 - This is a super example of a very early (SN 1277) Mauser Broomhandle Conehammer rig in 95% original condition. It is all matching, including the stock! The gun just has minimal high edge wear from being carried in the stock, with no pitting or rust. Most notable finish loss is on the barrel. It is all matching, including a matching early stock, when the stocks were serial numbered on the hinge. The other very interesting and unusual detail is an additional rear sight that is mounted on the stock and can be raised like a Lyman sight that was used on the Winchester rifles of that era. Most likely a special order feature, it is impeccably executed and makes this antique Mauser a unique example. We have not seen a comparable variation in any of the reference books. Very nice grips, and all the internals match. The bore has decent rifling but some frost throughout, and there is some pitting near the muzzle. Antique, so no license required.
