1/27/21 - This is a very scarce, original nickel finish Smith & Wesson Pre-27 revolver made in the late 1940s, and is probably a second year production gun.  It was made right after the war when S&W restarted production of .357 magnums as “Pre-27” model.  A very small percentage of the early guns were made both with very desirable 3.5 inch barrels and nickel finish. This revolver is in excellent original condition, with nearly all of the nickel finish present, with just a light cylinder ring. The sights are correctly blued and the cylinder and frame are marked with letter N, denoting the nickel finish. The frame, cylinder and barrel all match. The bore is mint. The grip are correct “high horn” early diamond magnas. The box is original to the gun and shows wear appropriate for the 70 year old gun, but is all original and is numbered faintly on the bottom with the full serial.  This stunning boxed set is worthy of any advanced S&W collection!
