11/2/21 - This is a very attractive Reising M-50 with typical compensator and rear peep sight, and includes two original 25-rd mags (one parkerized and one blued). The Reising M-50 was notably issued to Marines in the Pacific Theater during WWII as an alternative to the Thompson sub-machine gun which was in short supply. Although not well received by the Marines, these guns were also supplied to various police departments and utilized for decades after WWII. They have gained in popularity over the years with recreational shooting enthusiasts as a well made, relatively inexpensive entry level machine gun which utilizes readily available ammunition. The P proof on top of the receiver denotes that this variation was sent to the military as a lighter, cheaper option than the Thompson. This specimen has an excellent, matte refinish and the wood is in mint condition. The bluing on the rifle looks excellent but a little freckling is visible under the finish. Firing mechanism moves smoothly when operated by hand. This weapon is fully transferable on an ATF form 3 or form 4 as Curio & Relic eligible. Mechanics are fine. Bore is shiny with strong rifling. The listing also includes what appears to be an original loading tool, as well as various additional small parts. No doubt this will bring many hours of enjoyment to a future owner.
