1/6/21 - This is a very nice example of an Arisaka Type 38 Carbine issued to the Japanese military during WW2. This is a shorter version of the full sized Type 38 rifle. This one has a completely in tact mum stamp on the receiver. The rear sight and bolt are mismatched to the gun. The metal parts are excellent, but there are areas of minor pitting and oxidation on the barrel. The stock is generally in nice condition with dings, dents, and scratches. It looks like a light coat of lacquer was applied. The rifling in the bore is a bit worn and there is fouling in the grooves.
