5/19/20 - This is an original, rare and early production Walther P.38 "480 Code" pistol. The pistol has about 75% of the original finish in tact, with a majority of the finish loss taking place on the front strap and right side of the slide. This is honest wear, general thinning / finish loss and not rust or pitting. There's edge wear throughout the slide and on the muzzle as well. The biggest deterrent to the finish are the initials, which look like "AH" stacked on top of each other, lightly scratched into the barrel and slide of the gun. We stress that these are very light scratches, and one can't even feel a change in the surface when running a finger over. The small parts are all properly eagle/359 proof stamped, and original to the pistol. The grips are properly numbered and matching to the gun. The bore has some light patina and spots of discoloration, but strong grooves and fairly clean. The decocker doesn't function properly, but the safety does.
