12/15/22 - This is a scarce Winchester Model 12 shotgun in riot configuration. It was manufactured in 1942 and issued to the U.S. military. The receiver is marked 'U.S.' with the flaming bomb, and the left side of the butt stock features the 'W.B.' inspector's stamp and crossed cannons cartouche (very faint). The bluing rates about 93% with areas of wear around the high edges in general, very minor muzzle wear, and spotty wear on the magazine tube. Some light scratches here and there along the barrel. While there is not much actual finish loss, there are areas of noticeable pin-pricking, most obvious on the receiver. The wood stock is very nice, but the butt stock appears to have been lightly sanded. Hairline cracks around the wrist and on the handguard. Nice, shiny bore.
