9/11/20 - This is an excellent example of a Walther P.38 Rig issued to the Nazi military in 1945. The gun is all correct, matching, and has the proper "Eagle 359" military acceptance proofs. This one has some phosphate small parts and a late-war, cog hammer. The rig comes with two period-correct magazines and a never-seen-before holster. It is truly one-of-a-kind. It is maker-marked and dated 1945. It is light tan and in excellent condition. The gun is fully functional, including the de-cocker. It has retained about 97% of its original bluing. There is very minor muzzle wear and very minor wear on the high edges of the slide. One could argue there is some minor thinning on the front strap, but it is most likely the nature of this late-war finish. In any case, there is some brown patina showing through. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. Excellent black bakelite grips. The magazines are both of the scarce, late-war variation, marked "P.38 U". Just an excellent piece all around.
