8/7/17 - This is an all original late WW2 configuration M1 Carbine Rifle. The rifle has very late wartime production features such as an adjustable rear sight and a bayonet lug on the barrel. These are both original configuration pieces, and not post war re-arsenal additions. That makes this rifle a somewhat desirable late-war variation. The rifle has an excellent parkarized finish throughout, and the bolt is blued. The barrel band is "KI" proofed, and the rear sight is "PI" proofed. The magazine is "TI" proof stamped. The bore is minty - very shiny with excellent rifling and very little to no residue. The stock has a few very minor dings and signs of use, but no sanding or altercations. There is a cartouche of crossed rifles on one side and a "HI" stamp on the slanted area that holds the oiler and shoulder strap. The shoulder strap is original as well.
