7/17/19 - This is a great example of an original 1942 Remington Model 1903 Rifle, manufactured before the transition to the widely known 03-A3 model. The stock is properly marked with a U.S. military cartouche and an "FJA" inspector proof. The barrel is marked with a flaming bomb and an August, 1942 manufacture date. Overall, the gun is in great condition. We would rate the finish on the metal parts around 90-95%. The bolt is blued and the receiver and barrel are parkerized. About 10% of the metal parts have very minor pitting/pin-pricking, especially on the front barrel band and around the muzzle. There are also a few areas of minor discoloration on the receiver. The wooden stock is in excellent condition. It appears to be original but lightly sanded. The markings, however, are still visible. The bolt action is fully functional and smooth. The bore is in great condition - shiny with strong rifling.
