4/9/19 - This is an early Springfield Armory M1 Garand that was produced in 1941, and then used as part of the lend-lease program with Britain to help supply them with military arms. The rifle is in excellent condition with minimal finish loss on metal parts, and an excellent bore. The barrel features British markings, and the stock bears the same. The stock also features faint American military cartouches, and a few small, patched holes that indicate a mount for grenade launcher was once present. When the stock was repaired, it was likely sanded lightly, and this could explain the faint American markings. Rifle comes with a WW2 original sling.
