9/20/19 - This is an original WW2 Mauser K98 rifle bayonet with the original matching numbered scabbard. The bayonet has a nice blade that doesn't show signs of sharpening but does have some bluing loss and discoloration, as shown in photos. The blade is maker code stamped "cof" with a "41" date and the reverse side is serial numbered. The scabbard has a matching serial number to the blade. There is some pitting and dark discoloration throughout the scabbard, but no dents. The leather frog has a faint stamp on the backside, but it's too faint to read. The leather and stitching is all original and in tact. Overall a straightforward collectible bayonet.
