9/21/18 - This is an original and matching Nazi issued K98 from 1940. The '243' code on receiver implies it was manufactured at the Mauser AG Borsigwalde factory. All numbered parts on the rifle match but the stock does not appear numbered and parts of the bolt assembly are not, as well. Finish on the metal parts is uniformly thin with mild surface freckling on the receiver and barrel. The stock shows age but no major cracks or chips. Bore has decent rifling but is fairly frosted throughout. Comes with an original leather sling in good condition.
