9/15/20 - This is a very nice veteran capture assembly - a 1940 luger rig and Nazi party leader belt and buckle with a copy of the capture paperwork. The gun is all matching and comes with a 1940-dated holster, an unmarked luger tool, a two matching-numbered magazines. We believe the numbers on the magazine bottoms have been fabricated and are not original. The gun is dated 1940 and has the "42" Mauser factory code on the toggle. It has the proper "Eagle 655" military proofs on the right side of the slide. The gun has retained about 95% of its original bluing. There is wear around the muzzle, on the side plate, on the front edges of the frame, on some of the high edges, on the underside of the trigger guard, and at the base of both straps. There are a few light scratches on the front strap. The grips are minty, un-numbered, and may have been replaced at some point. The bore has strong rifling with minor frosting in the grooves. The holster is waffenamt, has wear in the finish throughout, and light cracking here and there. The party leader belt and buckle are excellent. The reverse of the buckle is marked "RZM M4/72". A copy of the original capture paperwork is included. Note that the serial number does not exactly match the gun. Since it is so close, we believe this was just a transposing error.
