6/7/17 - This is an extremely nice Mauser Banner police rig from 1940. The holster is police-style from 1939 and in near MINT condition. The gun is about 97% all original finish with all matching parts including BOTH magazines. The wear is found on the stock lug and the left side of the barrel, near the muzzle. It has the additional sear safety above the sideplate, and it is in the proper serial range for a police gun - 5509x. Both magazines are properly numbered to the gun and original. The grips are E/655 proofed but not numbered. This is common for many police guns as they were diverted from military production to the police at the factory with parts already in assembly. The grips look to be original to the gun. Comes with a blank, original luger tool in the holster's pouch. This is the way it came back from Germany, as I purchased it from a very old collection. The seller in his 70's had it for 30 year in this very same configuration.
