8/5/20 - This is a Mauser Luger P.08 issued to the Nazi military in 1936. The chamber is marked with the Mauser factory code "S/42", and the slide has the proper "Eagle 63" military acceptance proofs. This particular gun has retained about 95-96% of its original finish. There is minor wear on some of the high edges (especially the side plate). There are areas of dark spotty discoloration on the gun throughout and brown patina showing through on the straps. The bore has decent rifling with areas of minor pitting throughout. The grips are period-correct but unmarked. It appears that someone may have applied a very light coat of polyurethane on them that has since largely worn off, except for in the recesses of the diamonds. It comes with a mismatched but period-correct "Eagle 63"-marked magazine.
