4/3/18 - This is an interesting luger that started out as a 1929 DWM commercial luger. It has no chamber date and Crown/N proofs on the receiver and barrel. At some point, instead of going to the commercial market, it went to the police. The L. Mg. 11 marking means Landjagerei Magdeburg pistol #11. This unit marking is on the front strap, the magazine and the holster. In the process of issuing to the police it must have been re-worked as the gun has the police altered sear safety as well as the additional grip safety on the upper left grip. The gun is all matching including all small parts, the magazine (numbered in the police style), AND the holster. The grips are not numbered probably because it started out as a commercial gun and there is the typical small chip in the grip under the safety lever. The original finish rates about 90-92% with high edge wear and a thin front strap. The bore is still shiny with strong rifling. Finally, the gun has Nazi era re- work proofs. There is a droop wing eagle WaA66 on the right of the receiver. The gun comes with a police style holster which has the same MG.11 Unit mark and serial numbered to match the gun. It is very rare to see the gun and original holster all matching like this. The holster is also dated 1929.
