8/19/19 - This is an original Springfield model 1903 rifle, made in 1918 for use during WW1. The rifle is all original, including the original stock. The stock has an inspector stamp on the left side, and though faint you can read "O.G.E.K." . The stock has a few minor dings and surface scratches, but no notable cracks. The metal has dark patina and light discoloration throughout the receiver and bolt assembly, as well as some finish loss on the barrel / muzzle area. The bolt has a smooth action, but the bore is fairly rough, only rating at 4/10 overall. The rifling is in tact but there's evidence of residue / rust throughout the bore. Comes with a nice, original leather strap that appears period correct, but we don't see any maker stamps or dates.
