7/14/20 - This is a custom-built 1903 sniper rifle put together by a Springfield enthusiast/collector. The rifle features an early / pre WW1 production receiver (1912-13) and a period-appropriate finger groove stock from WW1. The stock is unmarked, and appears as if the cartouche stamps have been sanded out / faded out of the wood over time. The barrel is 1917 made by Springfield Armory. Bore rates about 8/10 with patina in the grooves but nice rifling. The scope is period correct as well, being a Winchester A5. The reticle is known as a post and cross wire. Comes with a nice leather strap that has light surface wear / wrinkling and no markings. There is some light / normal cosmetic wear on the finish, but no rust or pitting. Overall in great condition.
