2/11/22 - This is a nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in June of 1943. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 88" Nazi military acceptance proofs. There is an "asterisk" marking on the left side of the barrel, indicating it failed initial inspection and was sent back to the factory for repair. It has retained about 92% of its military finish. While there isn't a ton of actual finish loss, there is noticeable splotchy discoloration and spotty wear on whole left side of the slide. There is also spotty oxidation and areas of minor pitting along the left side of the slide. There is a hint of wear around the muzzle, scratchy wear on the top of the barrel, and some spotty oxidation on the barrel here and there. There is some very minor thinning and brown patina on the front strap. Some light scratches on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent period-correct reddish grips and a period-correct magazine. The bore is mint. De-cocker is functional.
