11/4/21 - This is an excellent example of an Arisaka Type 99 rifle issued to the Japanese military during WW2. There is a completely visible mum stamp on the receiver, but there are a couple of barely-visible strike marks through it. The gun is all matching except for the firing pin, which was replaced. The original firing pin is broken and does come with the gun. So we do have all matching parts. The gun is in excellent condition, retaining the majority of its original finish. Most of the finish loss is on the floor plate and around the high edges in general. There are areas of light brown patina on the chamber, floor plate, and trigger group. There is also some finish loss on the tang where it looks like a bolt may have been ground down. The wood stock is excellent with minor dings and scratches throughout, most noticeable on the sides of the action. The bore is near-mint - very shiny with strong rifling.
