.10/4/21 - This is a nice example of a Walther P.38 put together at the end of the war in 1945. The gun is mismatched, and the frame has no serial number. The right side of the slide has only one "Eagle 359" military proof, indicating the gun was never actually issued. Some of the small parts have a phosphate finish - typical for these end-of-war guns. It has retained somewhere between 85-90% of its finish. There is thinning on the front strap and on the barrel and minor wear around the muzzle and around the high edges of the slide. Minor pitting on the underside of the barrel. Thee is spotty oxidation throughout, most noticeable on the barrel, underside of the frame, and on the front strap. Comes with nice grips (a couple of light scratches on the left side) and a period-correct magazine. Excellent bore with strong rifling. The de-cocker does not function properly and the slide does not lock back on its own.
