9/29/21 - This is a nice example of a Mauser P.38 rig issued to the Nazi military in 1943. The barrel is mismatched, the rest of the gun is matching and has the proper "Eagle 135" military acceptance proofs. The rig comes with a period-correct hard shell and a proper Mauser magazine. The gun has retained about 85% of its original dusty-blue finish. There is thinning on the barrel and minor wear around the muzzle and around the high edges in general. Spotty wear and splotchy discoloration on the underside of the frame and trigger guard. Dark brown patina on the front strap and spotty oxidation throughout. The bore has good rifling with spotty freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional.
