9/15/21 - This is a rare example of an early military DWM luger. There were only 25,000 1st issue examples produced, so this is an interesting piece with a rich history. The first issue Lugers were the first military produced Lugers in 9mm, as this was one of the most requested changes in response to the earlier 1902 and 1906 models. The original finish rates at about 90-94%, and the straw colored small parts are about 50%. Most of the wear is scratchy on the front strap, where it looks like a unit marking may have been removed. The numbers are all matching however the grips, rear toggle pin and the firing pin are not numbered. We believe this is all correct for this early model. In addition, the hold open was added and has the proper inspector stamp as well as matching number to the gun. The magazine is also an early style military numbering and correct for the early military luger. Notice the number font is much larger and numbered vertically. Comes in 9mm and there are no import stamps. The bore has good rifling with areas of minor freckling.
