10/1/21 - This is a very nice example of a Spreewerk P.38 issued to the Nazi military in March of 1944. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 88" military acceptance proofs. There is a "44" marking under the serial number on the left side of the slide. We are not sure if this marking is factory or applied after. It would make most sense that this marking indicates the date of manufacture. The gun has retained about 90% of its finish. There is minor thinning on the front strap and very minor wear on the high edges of the slide and around the muzzle. A few very light scratches on the right side of the slide. Comes with excellent bakelite grips and a period-correct jvd magazine. The bore is excellent - shiny with strong rifling. De-cocker is functional.
