9/1/21 - This is an excellent example of a P.38 that was initially issued to the Nazi military in 1944. It has a Walther frame and hammer and the rest of the parts were made by Mauser. BYF 44 slide. It has the proper Nazi military proofs throughout. All of the parts on the gun have been renumbered to match, done at the police arsenal. The gun has been "Russian Dipped" and has a "Russian X" on the slide. Presumably, the gun was captured by the Russians and was reworked for issue to the East German police force. The rig comes with a post-war German holster, excellent grips, an un-marked phosphate magazine, and an un-marked blued magazine. The gun has retained virtually all of its dipped finish with no obvious signs of wear. Very nice bore with strong rifling and a little bit of frosting in the grooves. De-cocker is functional.
