8/24/21 - This is a very nice example of a French-made Mauser P.38 assembled immediately following WW2 using leftover Nazi parts. It is all matching, has a French star on the right side of the slide, and has a "Waffen 135" Nazi proof on the barrel. It also has an "Eagle BH" proof on the left side of the frame, indicating that his gun ended up with the Austrian military. Import mark on the underside of the barrel and a "Germany" export marking on the right side of the frame. Comes with excellent grips and a post-war magazine. It has retained about 93-94% of its finish. Most of the finish loss is on the front strap, so the profile views are excellent. Some minor spotty oxidation on the front strap. There is very minor wear on the front edges of the slide and around the muzzle. Very minor thinning on the barrel through the ejection port. The bore is near-mint. De-cocker is functional.
