8/2/21 - This is an excellent example of a Walther P.38 initially issued to the Nazi military in 1940. It is all matching and has the proper "Eagle 359" military proofs. It also has an "Eagle BH" or "Bundes Heer" or Austrian military proof. Germany export proof on the left side of the frame. Import mark on the underside of the barrel. The gun was refinished, likely at an Austrian arsenal. For some reason, one of the numbers in the serial number on the slide has been re-struck. Comes with nice grips (tiny chips on the left side) and a numbered but mismatched Walther magazine. The bore has good rifling with minor freckling throughout. De-cocker is functional. The slide does not lock back automatically. This is probably due to a lot of thick grease in the internals. This will likely improve with a good cleaning.
