8/10/21 - This is a nice example of a Chilean Mauser Model 1895 bolt action rifle, manufactured in the early 1900's. The gun is mostly matching except for the floor plate. The gun comes with an original cleaning rod (not matching) and a period-correct sling. There is an import mark on the underside of the barrel. All of the metal parts seem to have been touched up with cold-blue. As a result, there is spotty wear and splotchy discoloration throughout. The most significant finish loss is on the barrel bands. There are areas of noticeable pitting on the barrel. The rifling in the bore is slightly worn with areas of very minor pitting here and there in the grooves. The stock appears to have been lightly sanded. There are minor dings and small wood repairs here and there.
