8/10/21 - This is a nice example of a Spanish Mauser Model 1916 Rifle. It was issued to the Spanish Civil Guard in the early 1900's. The gun is matching, but has an import mark on the underside of the barrel. Spanish crest on the chamber. There isn't much actual finish loss, but there is noticeable spotty oxidation throughout. Some areas are heavier than others, especially around the muzzle, underside of the trigger guard, and on the underside of the bolt handle. The stock is excellent - some minor dings here and there and a noticeable chip on the right side. The stock may have been lightly sanded. The bore is shiny with strong rifling. It would be mint except for a few small areas of pitting. The cleaning rod is missing. Comes with a green canvas sling.
