8/1/19 - This is a reworked 1942 production Rock Island Arsenal model 1903. This rifle has an earlier style stock with hand grooves, and a faint remnant of an inspector stamp "RLB" (which I believe was a Remington factory inspector). The bolt is "R" stamped for Remington and is laser etched with a mismatched serial number. The right side of the stock also has rack numbers from an arsenal where it was reworked. The barrel is Springfield Armory and 1942 dated. The finish on the metal is nice, dark but in about 96% overall condition. The bore has minor corrosion throughout, but strong rifling so 7/10 overall. Fully functional with a smooth action.
