9/30/19 - This is a WWI era production German rifle bayonet with a "sawback" spine, a feature seldom seen today as these were outlawed by the Geneva Convention. This butcher bayonet would be attached to a Gew. 98 or similar German rifle. The blade is excellent with a strong maker stamp on one side. Very minimal wear on the blade. The scabbard has some speckling wear / rust throughout but no major dents or flaws. Imperial proof stamped on the handle. Also proofed stamped on the scabbard and scabbard hook (for leather frog). See photos. Wood grip has no major / notable issues. All original and authentic.
