4/9/19 - This is a very rare grouping of an early, pre WW1 production Springfield 1903 Bayonet, complete with scabbard, frog, and belt with buckle. The scabbard is the scarce early leather variation with some normal exterior scuffing but no dents. The back side is stamped R.I.A. with a 1907 date and "F.P.B." underneath (the F.P.B. is likely inspector initials). The metal frog is in tact and all original with the original leather belt attached. The belt has some light scuffing and surface cracking but no major cracks or significant issues. Where the buckle meets the belt, the leather tab is stamped R.I.A. and dated 1904 with inspector initials "G.R.S.". The buckle is unmarked. The bayonet is in great condition with a Springfield maker stamp and 1908 date. No finish on the blade except for at the base. The wood handle has no cracks or chips. One side of the handle is stamped "19 H8", which is maybe a unit stamp from WW1. Overall a nearly impossible to find grouping all in excellent condition.
