4/16/19 - This is an original WW2 Kriegsmarine (nazi navy) sword. The sword and scabbard are both Ostsee marked and unit numbered "O. 836" (matching). These weren't used in combat but rather for parades and a symbol of status. The sword is maker stamped by E.F. Horster and there's barely any notable wear on the blade. No signs of sharpening either. The handle has almost no notable flaws as well. The only issue of note is the scabbard has a wear point where it can be belt or "goes limp" when the sword is not inside. This is the only area where there's loss of the black leather finish around the body of the scabbard. The rest of the scabbard is very nice. Overall a great collectible sword.
